Job summary

WELL Health Clinic Network Inc. seeks a Specialist Physician (Internal Medicine) to deliver outpatient care for adults, including assessment, diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions in a settings aligned with provincial standards.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of an approved residency program in Internal Medicine.
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC).
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the applicable provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons.
• Completion of accredited subspecialty training is strongly desired but not mandatory.
• Membership in good standing with the CMPA.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and obtain comprehensive medical histories.
• Diagnose diseases within internal medicine and subspecialty areas.
• Provide ongoing management of acute and chronic systemic conditions.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Prescribe and administer medications and therapies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and follow-up plans.
• Provide specialist consultations and medical opinions to referring physicians.
• Perform procedures where credentialed and authorized.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records and documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Comply with laws, regulations and standards of the provincial College.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuing professional development.

Education

Medical degree from a recognized medical school

Completion of an approved residency program in Internal Medicine

Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC)

Licensure or eligibility for licensure with the applicable provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons

Completion of accredited subspecialty training is strongly desired but not mandatory

Membership in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
