Responsibilities

• Manages direct reports, delegation of work, supervision, coaching, and performance appraisals.
• Provides clinical leadership and direction to staff to meet agency standards.
• Participates in recruitment and staff orientation and ongoing training.
• Supports staff to meet their targets and improve performance.
• Reviews interventions and documentation to ensure treatment plans are established and monitored.
• Assists employees in resolving performance problems with improvement plans.
• On‑call by cell phone to provide clinical supervision for agency staff.
• Supports frontline staff in direct service situations.
• Develops team goals and monitors attainment in line with the agency plan.

Reporting to the Integrated Director of Mental Health and Addictions, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

Description

• Manages direct reports including but not limited to: delegation of work, day to day supervision, coaching, modelling, providing feedback to maximize quality service to clients, identifying training requirements, conducting performance appraisals, etc.
• Provides clinical leadership and direction to staff to meet agency standards.
• Participates in the recruitment and selection of employees and provides orientation and ongoing training for the team.
• Support staff to meet their targets
• Reviews interventions and documentation to ensure client treatment plans are established, worked on and measured on a regular basis
• Assists employees in resolving performance problems, including developing improvement plans with clear objectives and time lines.
• On call by cell phone on a rotating scheduled basis to provide clinical supervision for staff working at the agency
• Provides support to frontline staff regarding situations that require direct service contacts.
• Develops specific team/program goals and objectives to meet the agency's operational plan and monitors staff's attainment of these goals.

Education required

• Registered Nurse (preferably with Canadian Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing)
• Advanced practice experience and a detailed knowledge of serious mental illness usually gained by at least six (6) years of working with this population.
• Supervision experience and human resource skills necessary to provide effective leadership.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Valid Ontario Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle.

Hours of Work

35 hours/week . Flexible hours are required to meet the position requirements

Commensurate with experience, inclusive of HOOPP.
