Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent is seeking a Manager of Client Services for the Sarnia site to lead the client services team and ensure high-quality care. The role reports to the Integrated Director of Mental Health and Addictions and focuses on clinical leadership, staff development, and program performance.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) and ideally a Canadian Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
  • At least six years of experience working with serious mental illness.
  • Supervision and human resource skills for effective leadership.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Manages direct reports including delegation of work, supervision, coaching, feedback, and performance appraisals.
  • Provides clinical leadership and direction to staff to meet agency standards.
  • Participates in recruitment, selection, orientation and ongoing training for the team.
  • Supports staff to meet targets and monitors progress against goals.
  • Reviews interventions and documentation to ensure treatment plans are established and measured.
  • Assists employees in resolving performance problems with clear improvement plans.
  • On call by cell phone on a rotating schedule to provide clinical supervision.
  • Provides support to frontline staff regarding situations requiring direct service contacts.
  • Develops team/program goals and monitors attainment aligned to the agency’s operational plan.

Reporting to the Integrated Director of Mental Health and Addictions, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

Description:
  • Manages direct reports including but not limited to: delegation of work, day to day supervision, coaching, modelling, providing feedback to maximize quality service to clients, identifying training requirements, conducting performance appraisals, etc.
  • Provides clinical leadership and direction to staff to meet agency standards.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of employees and provides orientation and ongoing training for the team.

  • Reviews interventions and documentation to ensure client treatment plans are established, worked on and measured on a regular basis
  • Assists employees in resolving performance problems, including developing improvement plans with clear objectives and time lines.
  • On call by cell phone on a rotating scheduled basis to provide clinical supervision for staff working at the agency
  • Provides support to frontline staff regarding situations that require direct service contacts.
  • Develops specific team/program goals and objectives to meet the agency’s operational plan and monitors staff’s attainment of these goals.

Education required:

  • Registered Nurse (preferably with Canadian Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing)
  • Advanced practice experience and a detailed knowledge of serious mental illness usually gained by at least six (6) years of working with this population.
  • Supervision experience and human resource skills necessary to provide effective leadership.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Valid Ontario Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle.

Hours of Work: 35 hours/week. Flexible hours are required to meet the position requirements
