Job summary

Earls Kitchen + Bar is seeking an Internal Communications Coordinator to join our People Operations team at the Head Office in Vancouver, BC. You will help craft engaging internal messages and collaborate with teams across the organization to strengthen Earls' voice.

This role emphasizes meeting deadlines, attention to detail, and cross-functional partnership to support cultural initiatives, Town Halls, ERGs, and intranet adoption across North America.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Communications, Creative Writing, or related field is an asset. Comparable work experience would also be considered.
  • 0-2 years of experience working in Communications or related fields is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, build strong partnerships, and contribute to an engaging team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required, with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • The ability to observe and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality-focused environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and produce compelling multimedia communications for internal audiences including newsletters, company-wide emails, intranet content, global communications via intranet, urgent employee communications, and presentations.
  • Maintain and contribute to the internal corporate planning and implementation of corporate strategies and tools to maximize effectiveness, support in driving cultural initiatives, and set stores and head office up for success.
  • Uphold and continuously support in elevating internal brand standards to ensure consistency and strengthen Earls' internal brand identity.
  • Support the development and execution of communication plans and end-to-end event management for internal cultural initiatives, large-scale company events (such as Town Halls), and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), as assigned by the Director of Training and Development.
  • Ensure internal messages are communicated clearly, timely, and effectively to unite cross-functional teams across North America.
  • Uphold high editorial standards and contribute to maintaining the organization's brand voice in media, digital, and print communications.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication trends and business needs to continuously improve the effectiveness of employee communication strategies, methods, and platforms.
  • Refine rough draft content to ensure clarity and alignment with communication objectives.
  • Advocate for and drive adoption of the company intranet and newsletter by regularly connecting with staff and promoting these tools.
  • Liaise with Head Office Departments and Operations to provide top-tier internal communications, offering guidance, tools, and best practices that support company growth.
  • Support internal communications projects as assigned by the Director of Training and Development.
