Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Saint-Laurent, QC is offering an 8-month internship in Research and Technology, Aircraft Systems Architectures. The position focuses on evaluating PLM data interoperability, devising integration schemas across vendor and in-house tools, and testing APIs for SysML v2 data via REST APIs and design tooling.

The role requires familiarity with SE/MBSE, simulation, software development workflows, and data exchange standards (JSON, XML, REST, STEP, ReqIF).

Qualifications

• Familiarity with systems engineering (SE), model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and simulation concepts.
• Experience integrating software tools across API implementations is desirable.
• Awareness of data exchange frameworks and interoperability schemes (DoDAF, MOSA, OSLC, REST, STEP, ReqIF, JSON, XML).
• Experience with software development workflows including version control, debugging and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate PLM data interoperability needs and standards.
• Devise a schema to integrate cross-disciplinary vendor and in-house tooling.
• Evaluate data interoperability solution frameworks and perform a gap analysis.
• Initiation, development and testing of APIs to support integration of SysML v2 data using REST APIs and tooling.

What are your contributions to the team?

• evaluate PLM data interoperability needs and standards
• devise a schema to integrate process and need-specific cross-disciplinary vendor and in-house tooling
• evaluate available data interoperability solution frameworks and perform a gap analysis
• initiation, development and testing of APIs to support integration of:
  SysML v2 data using REST APIs, vendor and in-house design tooling, centralized PLM repository.
• investigate model query schemas employing native AI tools and protocols (e.g. Copilot, MCP)

How to thrive in this role?
