Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Site/Civil Engineering to join its team in Denver, CO. You will support site feasibility studies, assist with design plans and specifications, and gain hands-on experience in land development projects under industry leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering (student).
• GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates and design plans using engineering software.
• Assess soil, terrain, hydrology, topography and geology data to inform planning and design decisions.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments, and feasibility analyses.
• Provide field inspection services as needed and collaborate with team members on project tasks.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Site/Civil Engineering to join its collaborative team in Denver, CO. This individual will serve a key function in supporting site feasibility studies which may involve field work, technical report preparation and calculations, pre-construction conditions documentation, design plans and specifications. In this role, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience technically and professionally by partnering directly with industry leadership on a variety of exciting land development projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment.
• Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments, assist with the sidewalk cast estimations, and determines the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of collected data.
• Provide field inspection services, as needed.
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments. Travel requirements may vary by position and may change based on business needs..

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm’s annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.

Pay Range

$23—$30 USD
