Your role and responsibilities

The quality and innovation of the engineering of our products, systems, and services allow our clients to stay at the forefront. Developing solutions for our clients worldwide and working on our cutting-edge market technologies will stimulate and enrich your work and mind. The ABB Measurement & Analysis plant in Quebec is a world leader in spectroscopy. Our contract engineering service is the largest Canadian supplier of space optical sensors used for monitoring greenhouse gases and weather forecasting. Our plant also develops and manufactures products for industrial analysis. By joining our engineering team, you will contribute to projects and R&D in space systems for defense and security applications, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and meeting quality and safety standards. You should have a physical sense, autonomy, teamwork skills, and R&D experience in space systems design and analysis.

  • Interact with project managers and clients to understand their needs.
  • Maintain trustful relationships with clients throughout project phases.
  • Manage system and subsystem requirements, model systems, develop technical budgets, and ensure compliance and risk management.
  • Collaborate on project planning, monitor technical actions, and lead team meetings using Agile methodology.
  • Develop test plans, verification, and validation strategies with the Test team.
  • Present design reviews and milestones in English and French.
  • Estimate effort levels for current and new projects.
  • Improve system engineering tools, including Model-based Systems Engineering.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in engineering or sciences, with 5+ years in infrared optical systems.
  • Results-oriented, team player, good communicator.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce clear documentation.
  • Experience with aerospace procedures and methodologies, with suggestions for simplification.
  • Proficiency in Magic Draw, Windchill, Primavera, SAP, Office, Matlab or Python.
  • Knowledge of standards like INCOSE, CMMI, MIL-STD, ISO.
  • Bilingual in English and French, with French required and English for client communication.
