Job summary

EXP is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Markham office. You’ll contribute to the structural design of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver practical, safe, and innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a Structural Engineering degree, a P.Eng license (or close to obtaining), and 3–8 years of experience, plus NBCC/CSA knowledge and field-site exposure.

Qualifications

Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
P.Eng license required or near completion.
3–8 years of structural engineering experience.
Experience with NBCC or CSA standards is preferred.
Field/construction site experience and ability to write site reports.

Responsibilities

Assist with design of steel, concrete, masonry, and structures including renovations of existing buildings.
Provide direction to the drafting/BIM team independently.
Work with other senior and/or junior engineers collaboratively.
Participate in design meetings with owner, architect, and other consultants.
Participate in construction site meetings.
Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents.
