EXP is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Markham office. You’ll contribute to the structural design of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver practical, safe, and innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a Structural Engineering degree, a P.Eng license (or close to obtaining), and 3–8 years of experience, plus NBCC/CSA knowledge and field-site exposure.

• Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
• P.Eng license required or near completion.
• 3–8 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with NBCC or CSA standards is preferred.
• Field/construction site experience and ability to write site reports.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with design of steel, concrete, masonry, and structures including renovations of existing buildings.
• Provide direction to the drafting/BIM team independently.
• Work with other senior and/or junior engineers collaboratively.
• Participate in design meetings with owner, architect, and other consultants.
• Participate in construction site meetings.
• Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents.

EXP is currently looking for anIntermediate Structural Engineerto join our Markham office. While there is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects the primary focus of this position is to assist ourdesign team on structural design for the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Assist with design of steel, concrete, masonry, and structures including renovations of existing buildings

What your experience looks like

• Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university
• P. Eng. Licence is required; however, close to obtaining the license will also be considered
• Preferably3 to 8 years’ experience in structural engineering with a focus onstructural analysis and design
• Project Management Experience would be considered an asset
• Experience withNBCC, CSA standards
• Field experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications, and writing site reports
• Experience withEtabs, SAFE, SAP and other similar Structural design software
• Team player with the proven ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Hard worker, who is eager and willing to assume responsibility
• Commitment and dedication to client service as well as technical excellence
• Demonstrated and effective communication skills and the ability to handle changing needs while working effectively with diverse groups
• Strategic thinker with the ability to determine what work is required and draw rational conclusions from all available information
• A valid driver’s license isrequired, and access to a vehicle

The salary range for this role is between$65K - $100K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
