Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of MPS/MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, and Inventory Planning is preferred.

The Role:

The Intermediate Production Planner is responsible for ensuring best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning, and supply planning on less complex programs and products. This position will work closely with the Master Scheduler, Purchasing, and Logistics. The Production Planner shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare daily and weekly production schedules
  2. Determine production resource needs
  3. Issue all production orders per planned orders and production schedule
  4. Close and reconcile production/work orders
  5. Report and drive solutions on material availability issues
  6. Work with the Procurement specialist to solve any material shortages
  7. Drive, monitor, and status production progress (Work In Progress), filling in any shortages
  8. Ensure that any unused material is returned to stock
  9. Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
  10. Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
  11. Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
  12. Review demand and supply to understand constraints/bottlenecks and propose capacity improvements
  13. Participate in business planning meetings for future activities
  14. Recommend stock to support a pull system and reduce lead-times
  15. Analyze weekly, monthly, and future capacity to optimize product loading and maintain manufacturing continuity
  16. Read and analyze charts, production orders, schedules, and reports to determine requirements and evaluate outputs
  17. Administer physical count activities and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  18. Perform and justify Inventory Adjustments
  19. Generate test record documents, print, and watermark if required
  20. Close all test records if required
  21. Scan receiving paperwork, verify PDFs, and upload files into the ERP system
  22. Perform other duties as required
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, leadership in business discussions, and training abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using data and reports
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to incorporate new methods and principles into existing practices
  • High resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
  • Meticulous record-keeping skills
Education and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business or Supply Chain Management is an asset
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Production Planner is an asset
  • Knowledge of ERP systems related to materials, scheduling, MRP, MPS, BOM operations/processes
  • Knowledge of MPS/MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, and Kanban is preferred
Comments/Special considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the Reliability Status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

Salary:
