The Role

The Intermediate Production Planner is responsible for implementing best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning, and supply planning for less complex programs and products. This role collaborates closely with the Master Scheduler, Purchasing, and Logistics to ensure production schedules are created and completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

1. Preparing daily & weekly production schedules
2. Determining production resource needs
3. Issuing all production orders based on planned orders and schedules
4. Closing and reconciling production/work orders
5. Reporting and resolving material availability issues
6. Collaborating with Procurement to address material shortages
7. Monitoring production progress and addressing shortages
8. Ensuring unused materials are returned to stock
9. Creating and maintaining progress reports
10. Developing and executing the Production Schedule
11. Coordinating operations within and across departments
12. Analyzing demand and supply constraints to propose capacity improvements
13. Participating in business planning for future periods
14. Recommending stock levels to support pull systems and reduce lead times
15. Analyzing capacity to optimize product loading and ensure manufacturing continuity
16. Reviewing production records and reports to assess requirements and outputs
17. Managing inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies
18. Performing inventory adjustments
19. Generating test records and managing documentation as needed
20. Scanning and uploading receiving paperwork into ERP systems
21. Performing additional duties as required

Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• 2-5 years in manufacturing or related experience (asset)
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business or Supply Chain Management (asset)
• Experience as a Production Planner (asset)
• Knowledge of ERP systems, MRP, MPS, BOM, and related processes

Additional Requirements:

• Must obtain and maintain security clearance at the Reliability Status level and pass assessments for CGP and ITAR.
