Our team is growing, and iN STUDIO has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team.

In this role, you will work with a team of creative and talented individuals contributing to high-quality interior design projects.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the production, review, and coordination of design activities, construction documentation, and contract administration. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and enhance your skills in various areas of interior design, working with a great team and clients who aim for innovative, forward-thinking design concepts that meet their vision and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review, and coordinate design and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp
• Take ownership of contract administration duties
• Manage daily tasks independently under the guidance of a Senior Interior Designer
• Delegate tasks and oversee a small team of Junior Designers
• Manage project communications internally and externally
• Communicate with clients regarding daily activities
• Support senior staff during client site visits and meetings
• Coordinate with vendors and sub-consultants to ensure compliance with building codes
• Manage the completion of permit-ready drawings, including communication with subconsultants
• Maintain attention to detail in drawings and design activities
• Communicate work progress and deliverables regularly to senior staff, ensuring proper handover
• Participate in industry events and firm activities as a representative of iN Studio
• Complete the NCIDQ examination successfully

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• 5+ years of experience as an Interior Designer in a design firm
• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, M. Arch, or ID
• NCIDQ, ARIDO (registered or candidate)
• LEED certification is an asset
• Proven experience with corporate workplace design projects, including renovation, new construction, and contract administration
• Excellence in test-fits and space planning
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge of codes and regulations in Canada and OBC
• Ability to work independently on projects
• Creative and innovative design perspective
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Teamwork-oriented
