Interior Designer - Brookfield Residential
As a member of Brookfield Residential, the Interior Designer is responsible for providing homeowners with an exceptional customer experience by assisting with their Interior Selections. The role involves supporting the proposal of new innovative products and continuously improving the overall homeowner experience.
The Interior Designer reports to the Interior Design Lead and ensures that homeowner expectations are met or exceeded. Responsibilities include delivering clear, concise documentation in a timely manner with attention to detail to maximize customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong knowledge base of current interior design trends and customer needs.
- Provide collaborative suggestions to enhance and update product offerings.
- Support the Interior Design Lead in product development.
- Maintain schedules and appointments for homeowner selections.
- Support planning and maintenance of product samples.
- Maintain supplier and vendor relationships.
- Communicate consistently with homeowners and internal departments to meet timelines.
- Provide budget-conscious alternatives and re-selections due to stock issues.
- Ensure interior selections for feature homes meet target demographics.
- Respond promptly to communication requests and resolve field issues.
- Attend showhome walkthroughs for installation guidelines and product familiarization.
- Inspect customer homes for installation guidelines and potential concerns.
- Represent the Brookfield Residential brand positively at all times.
- Collaborate with Estimating for accurate and timely pricing requests.
- Participate in product knowledge sessions with trade partners.
- Document all homeowner interior selections clearly.
- Record upgraded products on change orders with applicable costs.
- Upload documents for processing and notify relevant departments of changes.
- Book homeowner selection meetings to maintain construction timelines.
- Photograph and document customer home walkthroughs for team discussions.
Must-Haves
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction.
- Post-secondary education, specifically an Interior Design Degree or Diploma.
- Extensive knowledge of the latest design trends and products.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to sketch renderings or create visuals for homeowner expectations.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, and customers.
