Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking an Intermediate Instrumentation and Control Engineer for the Great Bear Project in Red Lake, Ontario. You will assist the I&C Lead with engineering reviews of plant instrumentation, process control, utilities, and surface/underground facilities during Detailed Engineering.
Qualifications include a degree in electrical/electronics or control systems and 5–10 years of relevant experience. Ontario PE designation preferred; relocation may be required.
The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.
The Intermediate Instrumentation and Control Engineer will assist the Instrumentation and Control Lead with engineering review of the instrumentation and control related work associated with the Great Bear Project, in particular process plant instrumentation and process control, utilities, water management instrumentation and process control, mining services and other infrastructure on surface and underground during Detailed Engineering.
A bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, or control system engineering is required. A Professional Engineer designation in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain one, is preferred; however equivalent experience may be considered. A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience is required.

This position is based in Red Lake, Ontario. Local candidates, or those willing to relocate with relocation assistance, will be given priority for this position. The schedule is 5X2. Remote candidates may also be considered for this opportunity; however, relocation to Red Lake will be required by mid 2028. Frequent travel may be required.
The base salary range for the Intermediate Instrumentation and Control Engineer is $95,000 to $118,000 + Short Term Incentive Bonus, + Group Benefit Coverage.
The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate's experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
