Your Role:

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Human Factors Engineer for our Pickering, Ontario office. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:

• Human Factors (HF) Specialists apply the knowledge of human capabilities and limitations to the design of systems and equipment.
• Human Factors Engineering ensures that the system and design are compatible with the sensory, perceptual, cognitive and physical attributes of the personnel who operate, maintain and support the system.
• HF Specialists work as part of a multi-discipline team to analyze information and evaluate existing and proposed designs under the following frameworks: CNSC REGDOC-2.5.1, NUREG 0711 and CSA 290.12.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Engineering or Science specializing in Human Factors Engineering or related discipline (e.g. systems engineering)
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario or eligible for registration shortly
• 4+ years of related working experience in a design environment within the Canadian Nuclear Industry is considered an asset
• Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team
• Must be able to obtain Canadian Federal security clearance
• Well-developed technical writing and presentation skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated experience of working in a collaborative team environment (e.g., share technical knowledge, mentor junior staff, contribute to healthy productive technical discussions on HF technical elements and methods, etc.)
• Proven ability to be flexible, adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
• OPG or Bruce Power experience is considered an asset

Additional Information:

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
