We are seeking a hands-on Help Desk Support Technician with strong technical and analytical skills, along with advanced troubleshooting abilities. You will ensure Evans’ desktop computing environments and end users are operational and secure in a 24/7/365 environment. The role requires quick analysis, prioritization, troubleshooting, and effective communication across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor and manage the Evans help desk ticketing system daily.
  2. Respond promptly via email, phone, and in person to support tickets.
  3. Escalate complex issues to level 3/senior support when necessary.
  4. Document all interactions thoroughly in the ticketing system.
  5. Proactively manage all hardware, software, and peripherals, including:
  • Maintain accurate inventories using GLPI.
  • Install, update, and patch software such as Office 365/Teams, Autodesk Suite, ESET, TeamViewer, OpenVPN, and other manufacturing software.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace desktop and laptop hardware and peripherals.
  • Support remote workers globally using remote tools like TeamViewer.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with technologies including OpenVPN, ESET Antivirus, Microsoft Office 365/Teams, SharePoint, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies.
  • Knowledge of Windows PowerShell is a plus.
  • Experience with Spiceworks HelpDesk, GLPI, PDQ Software Deployment, and Microsoft Intune (preferred).

Education/Experience

  • College or technical diploma, or university degree in computer science, with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Microsoft desktop OS certifications are advantageous.

Special Requirements

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Reliable transportation for daily commuting and after-hours support.
  • This is an in-office role (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm); remote access is limited to after-hours support.
