Job summary

Magna IV Engineering in Calgary seeks an Intermediate EIT Field Service Technician to support our field services team. You will work on electrical projects, including commissioning, repair, and maintenance of power equipment, delivering exceptional client experiences.

The role requires 4+ years in field commissioning/testing, strong teamwork, and the ability to travel frequently. A valid driver’s license and flexibility for shifts, including evenings/weekends, are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 years of hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery equipment
• Electrical Engineering Degree, PSE, or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma
• Knowledge of commercial, industrial and utility environments
• Experience working within teams; ability to travel and work flexible shifts

Responsibilities

• Work safely on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems across diverse environments
• Commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment
• Operate and troubleshoot various brands of test equipment
• Collaborate with project teams for effective support and outcomes
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and documented
• Prepare technical reports and follow up with clients for satisfaction
• Interact courteously with clients and identify process improvements
• Perform other duties as required

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate EIT Field Service Technician towork within our Calgary Field Services Team. The successful candidate will be accountable to work with project teams on electrical field projects; ultimately providing exceptional client experiences through commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and effectively on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems in a variety of environments, including commercial, utilities, manufacturing, mining, pipeline and oil andgas
• Commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary powerequipment including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, protective relays,etc.
• Confidently work with various brands of test and troubleshootingequipment
• Work with project teams effectively through collaboration, support, and teamfocus
• Ensure safe work process is executed with each job and a culture of safety isfostered
• Ensure completion of technical reports and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and completeness ofwork
• Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professionalmanner
• Identify and implement processimprovements

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering Degree, PSE (Power Systems Electrician) or Electrical Engineering TechnologyDiploma
• 4 year of hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining powerdelivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers required
• Knowledge in commercial, industrial and utilityenvironments
• Experience working withinteams
• Self-motivated, self-managed, flexible and driven
• Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Officeapplications
• Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work with minimalsupervision
• Excellent time management skills with an attention todetail
• The ability to work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
• Must have a valid driverslicense
• Ability and willingness to travel and to be out of town frequently
