Job summary

Jobtailor in Calgary is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to lead mine planning projects and mentor technical teams on design surfaces, schedules, and cost estimates. You will work closely with mining clients and internal disciplines, support the proposal process, prepare technical reports, and oversee budgets, scopes, and schedules.

Travel for workshops and site visits is expected, and registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with APEGA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mine planning first principles.
  • Experience in mine and/or tailings planning.
  • Experience in the operational or closure phases within the mining industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and legislative frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Skills in mine planning software (Hexagon MinePlan and/or Deswik, CAD).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for workshops, client meetings, and site visits.
