Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking one (1) Intermediate Communications Specialist to join our talented Service Delivery team at Ministry of Justice (Government of Alberta).
WORK MODEL: The successful candidate(s) will work onsite at either John E. Brownlee Building, 10365-97 Street NW or First & Jasper Place, 10065 Jasper Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta. It is anticipated the role will be 100% onsite. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to apply (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident). Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security policies. Standard Hours of work are 08:15-16:30 with a 1 hour lunch break Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Intermediate Communications Specialist will provide professional communications services in support of the Court Technology Services (CTS). The resource will work closely with the Executive Director, CTS leadership, project teams, and stakeholders to develop and deliver communications that support organizational change, executive messaging, employee engagement, and strategic initiatives.
The resource will develop communication strategies and products that effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders while ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with Alberta Courts standards.
Key areas of support include executive communications, organizational announcements, employee communications, presentation development, branding, communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational communications.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
- Develop executive communications on behalf of the Executive Director, including branch updates, organizational announcements, leadership messages, and employee communications.
- Prepare monthly CTS Branch communications based on information provided by the Executive Director and CTS leadership.
- Develop communication strategies and communication plans supporting organizational transformation and technology initiatives.
- Create professional communication products including presentations, executive briefing notes, speaking notes, newsletters, FAQs, infographics, and visual communication materials.
- Develop branding and visual identity for CTS initiatives, ensuring consistency across communication products.
- Translate complex business and technical information into clear, concise, audience-appropriate communications.
- Support organizational change initiatives through employee engagement and change communications.
- Review, edit, and provide quality assurance for communications prepared by project teams and leadership.
- Review existing operational communications, including service outage and maintenance notifications, and recommend improvements to readability, consistency, effectiveness, and customer experience.
- Develop standardized communication templates and guidance for operational and executive communications.
- Collaborate with executives, managers, subject matter experts, and project teams to gather information and prepare communication materials.
- Develop presentations and supporting materials for executive meetings, leadership forums, town halls, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Provide communications advice and recommendations to CTS leadership regarding communication approaches and stakeholder messaging.
- Ensure all communication products align with Alberta Courts communication standards, visual identity requirements, and plain language principles.
MANDATORY SKILLS
- University graduation in a related field (such as Commerce, Communications) plus four (4) years progressively responsible related experience OR diploma in a related field and a minimum six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience; or equivalent as described below. Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education. Focus/Major Degree or diploma in Commerce, Communications, or related area. (Yes or No)
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group. (Yes or No)
- Experience developing and implementing effective communication plans. (2 years+)
- Experience developing professional internal and organizational communications, including executive/leadership messages, employee communications, organizational announcements, newsletters, briefing materials, and other communication products. (3 years+)
- Experience developing professional presentations and visual communication materials for senior leadership and other organizational audiences, including advanced use of Microsoft PowerPoint. (3 years+)
- Experience reviewing and evaluating existing communications and recommending or implementing improvements to clarity, consistency, effectiveness, and audience suitability. (2 years+)
- Experience with professional business writing, editing, and translating complex business or technical information into clear, concise, audience-appropriate communications. (3 years+)
- Experience working directly with executives, senior leaders, managers, and subject matter experts to gather information, provide communications advice, and develop communication products. (2 years+)
DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
- Experience developing branding, visual identity, templates, infographics, or other visual communication products using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or comparable tools. (2 years+)
- Experience developing communications related to technology service disruptions, outages, planned maintenance, incidents, or service changes. (1 years+)
- Experience developing communications within a technology, IT, digital transformation, or similarly technical environment. (2 years+)
- Experience developing communications within government, the broader public sector, courts, justice, or another complex regulated organization. (1 years+)
- Experience supporting communications for organizational transformation, change management, restructuring, or other significant organizational change initiatives. (2 years+)
- Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or other digital platforms to publish or manage organizational communications. (1 years+)
