Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000/year

CMLS Financial is seeking a dynamic, hardworking Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team in Vancouver, BC. This role offers exposure to corporate accounting, providing a solid foundation for your career at CMLS. You will also have the opportunity to learn from and interact with our leadership team from day one.

Responsibilities

1. Preparing bank reconciliations
2. Assisting with the month-end close process and preparing internal financial reporting packages
3. Supporting the Payments team in investigating unusual transactions and reconciling differences
4. Assisting with trust and financial statement audits
5. Performing month-end corporate tasks including prepaids, fixed assets, tax provision, leases, and accruals
6. Conducting monthly financial statement analysis on shared services functions
7. Approving invoices incurred by shared services
8. Preparing quarterly invoices for intercompany transactions
9. Supporting the wider Finance team as needed

This Role Is For You If

1. You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
2. You have 2-3 years of related work experience in finance and accounting
3. You are an intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel or interested in learning more about Excel
4. You possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are assertive and comfortable communicating with various individuals
5. You can work well independently and within a team environment
6. You have strong organizational skills with high attention to detail under tight deadlines
7. You have superior problem-solving skills and can analyze various data sets
8. You take ownership of your work, demonstrating accountability and commitment
9. You are driven, eager to learn, and a quick learner with a curious mindset
10. You possess strong process and systems skills
11. You are interested in pursuing or are working towards the CPA designation (asset)
12. You have prior experience with accounting software (Microsoft Business Central experience is an asset) and can analyze and investigate the General Ledger (asset)
