Intermediate Accountant, Corporate

Vancouver, BC

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000/year

CMLS Financial is looking for a dynamic, hardworking Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team in Vancouver BC. You will be exposed to corporate accounting, giving you an excellent foundation for your career at CMLS. You will also have the opportunity to learn from and interact with our dynamic leadership team from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing bank reconciliations;
  • Assisting with the month-end close process and preparation of internal financial reporting packages;
  • Supporting the Payments team in investigating unusual transactions and reconciling differences;
  • Assist with trust and financial statement audits;
  • Performing month-end corporate tasks including prepaids, fixed assets, tax provision, leases, and accruals;
  • Performing monthly financial statement analysis on shared services functions;
  • Approving invoices incurred by shared services;
  • Preparing quarterly invoices for intercompany transactions;
  • Supporting the wider Finance team as needed.

This Role Is For You If

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field;
  • You have 2-3 years of related work experience in finance and accounting;
  • You are an intermediate to advanced level user of Microsoft Excel, or interested in learning more about excel;
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are assertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individuals;
  • You are able to work well independently as well as within a team environment;
  • You possess strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail while working under tight deadlines;
  • You have superior problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze various data sets;
  • You take ownership of your work and demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment at all times;
  • You are a driven individual who have a strong desire to learn;
  • You are a quick learner with a curious mindset;
  • You possess strong process and systems skills.
  • You are interested in pursuing or are working towards the CPA designation; (an asset)
  • You have prior experience with an accounting software (Microsoft Business Central experience is an asset) and the ability to analyze and investigate the General Ledger. (an asset)
