Job description

About the Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and supporting operational accounting processes. You will handle core accounting activities such as managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting with month-end close, performing reconciliations, and providing support for audits and financial compliance. You will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the seamless execution of accounting operations.

  • Leads accounts receivable on construction projects
  • Process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately and promptly.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring proper coding and compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and vendor accounts.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of working papers and journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
  • Support cashflow tracking and project costing activities.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders with professionalism and clarity.
  • Uphold financial data integrity and support adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or installation industries.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Business Central, QuickBooks, or SAP.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
