Our client, located in Hamilton, is seeking an Insurance Litigation Associate Lawyer to join their team and provide specialized legal expertise in insurance defense litigation. This role focuses on managing a diverse caseload, supporting client needs, and contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence.

Job Responsibilities :

• Handle a wide range of insurance defense cases, including property insurance, coverage, fraud, and subrogation.
• Conduct legal research and draft detailed documents to support litigation.
• Attend discoveries, mediations, and court appearances to advocate for client interests.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients with a commitment to professionalism and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with team members, including associates and clerks, to ensure efficient case progression.
• Participate in weekly department meetings to review caseloads and strategies.
• Engage in professional development activities to stay informed of legal trends and practices.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of training materials or seminars as needed.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned by senior management.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements :

• Minimum of 3 years of post-call experience, with a focus on insurance defense litigation.
• Expertise in property insurance, coverage, fraud, or subrogation is a significant asset.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple files effectively.
• Proficient in legal research and drafting tools, with strong technical skills.
• Prior experience in defense litigation is required; plaintiff-only experience is not a fit for this role.
• Willingness to work on-site initially, transitioning to a flexible arrangement as workload permits.
