Job summary

Navacord Inc. in Alberta seeks an Insurance Advisor to drive growth from Hinton or Edson, working with the Managing Director to shape the office direction and build local relationships. You will focus on new business production while retaining personal and commercial accounts.

You will collaborate with the Personal Insurance team, negotiate terms with underwriters, and identify opportunities to expand the client book, delivering trusted service and value-added solutions.

Qualifications

• 2 years of personal and commercial insurance experience preferred.
• Level 2 General Insurance license is required.
• C.I.P. or C.A.I.B. designation completed or in progress.
• Strong mentorship and teaming capability; ability to lead and motivate.
• Diplomacy and business acumen with customer service focus.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and broker management systems.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking for the ideal candidate to drive growth and establish a strong presence in our Hinton or Edson location. This role offers the unique opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director, playing a pivotal part in shaping the office's direction, building local relationships, and laying the foundation for long-term success. The Insurance Advisor is responsible for overall new business production. These clientele may be principals of commercial or personal accounts or have prominent business and community affiliations. The Insurance Advisor will work alongside commercial producers to generate referrals and grow the book of business with a focus on the retention of both personal and commercial accounts

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Delivering “best in class” additional services to the same assigned group of clients. Additional services would be defined as those “above and beyond” normal transactional services provided to personal and commercial clients, and may include creating and implementing additional value-added services as appropriate;
• Participation in growth initiatives on behalf of the Personal Insurance department;
• Liaise with company underwriters to negotiate best terms for our clients;
• Increase revenue by identifying new business opportunities and acquiring new business for the company;
• Ensure that strong, long-term customer relationships are created by providing value added services;
• Maintain a current knowledge base of insurance products and services with various insurance companies, including regular, non-standard, and high-net-worth markets;
• Managing Accounts Receivable of existing client base;
• Working with Personal Insurance team members to provide an exceptional customer service experience;
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• 2 years of personal and commercial insurance experience strongly preferred;
• Experience with EPIC brokerage software preferred;
• Level 2 General Insurance license required;
• Completed or working towards C.I.P. or C.A.I.B. designation;
• Solid mentorship skills and teaming capability; the ability to lead and motivate, delegate, and rally colleagues;
• A well-defined sense of diplomacy and business acumen with a focus on customer service and the overall client experience;
• Skill in analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, teamwork, communication, innovation, and adaptability;
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and internal Broker Management Systems (EPIC).
