Job summary

Wrapex Industrial Services Inc. is seeking Journeyman and Apprentice Insulators to support insulation projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. You will read drawings, cut and install insulation, and apply vapour barriers across piping, equipment, and structures.

The role requires valid safety tickets (CSTS, WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space, EWP, First Aid) plus a valid driver’s license and own tools. Apprenticeship status is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Must possess CSTS, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space, EWP, and First Aid tickets.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Own required hand tools and CSA-approved safety boots.
• Able to work with a variety of industrial insulation materials and handle heavy materials.
• Able to work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and dusty environments.
• Self-motivated and able to work well in a crew and with other trades.
• May be required to complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to determine insulation requirements and select materials.
• Measure and cut insulation materials to required dimensions using hand and power tools.
• Apply insulation and secure it using appropriate methods.
• Fit insulation around piping, equipment, and structures.
• Install vapour barriers and weatherproofing systems as required.
• Fabricate and install metal cladding as needed.
• Remove and replace existing insulation when required.
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

Candidates must have the ability to apply insulation materials to heating and cooling systems, piping, pipelines, equipment, pressure vessels, and other structures to prevent or reduce the passage of heat, cold, sound, or fire.

Duties may include:

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements and select appropriate insulation materials
• Measure and cut insulation materials to required dimensions using hand and power tools
• Apply and secure insulation using appropriate application and installation methods
• Fit insulation around piping, equipment, obstructions, and other structures
• Install vapour barriers and weatherproofing systems as required
• Fabricate and install metal cladding as required
• Remove and replace existing insulation as required
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must possess valid safety tickets as required for the worksite, which may include:

• CSTS
• WHMIS 2015
• H2S Alive
• Fall Protection
• Confined Space
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
• Standard First Aid

Candidates must also:

• Have a valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
• Have their own required hand tools and CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots
• Be able to work with a variety of industrial insulation materials
• Be physically capable of performing the requirements of the position, including handling heavy materials and equipment
• Be able to work in physically demanding environments
• Be able to work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and in dusty or industrial environments
• Be self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a crew
• Work cooperatively with other teams and trades
• Be dependable, punctual, and able to perform assigned work within project schedules
• Follow established safety procedures and support a safety-focused work environment
• Candidates may be required to successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing and comply with client site-access requirements

Registered apprenticeship status is considered an asset for Apprentice applicants.
