Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a Systems Technologist (Instrumentation) in Hamilton, Ontario. You will troubleshoot, service and calibrate industrial measuring and control instrumentation to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with Lean principles.
Expert in process control systems with ability to read and modify PLC and HMI programming.
Specific expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC logic with good working knowledge of Siemens.

Responsibilities

Determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments measuring flow, level, pressure, temperature and composition.
Provide input on equipment installation, predictive/preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
Drive yield improvement through planned maintenance and fast repair responses.
Repair and adjust sensors, transmitters, and PLC/HMI components; replace defective parts.
Provide instrumentation support and training for plant electricians.
Liaise with engineering on equipment modifications.
