Job summary

The City of Kamloops seeks an Instrumentation Mechanic for a permanent, full-time role that enhances city infrastructure. You will design and install instrumentation systems and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic controls to keep pumping stations and facilities running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate holds the Instrumentation and Control Technician Red Seal, has at least three years of relevant experience, and a BC Class 5 driver’s licence; RCMP clearance may be

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Completion of Instrumentation and Control Technician Red Seal Program.
• Minimum three years’ previous experience working as an instrumentation technician currently working in the trade.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance. If you are unable to obtain or maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance, your employment with the City will be terminated. (To be considered for an RCMP enhanced security clearance, applicants must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Resident Status in Canada. Note: individuals with Permanent Resident Status must have resided (physically present) in Canada for the last five (5) consecutive years).
• Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.

This is a unionized position with CUPE Local 900; check out our Collective Agreement (2024 - 2025) for full details (ratified 2026 Collective Agreement coming soon). As this is a unionized position, all qualifications must be met in order to be shortlisted for the position.
