Job summary

The City of Kamloops is seeking a permanent, full-time Infrastructure Administrator to manage servers, storage, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and a growing cloud and hybrid environment. You will work with engineers and admins to keep systems healthy and shape future infrastructure.

Qualifications include a CS degree (or equivalent CS diploma with infra/network certs) and 5 years of Tier 3 infra experience, plus 2 years in VMware, Windows Server, AD and Microsoft 365.

Position Overview

This permanent, full-time position is a hands-on role managing the technology that keeps the City running — servers, storage, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and a growing cloud and hybrid environment. You'll work closely with a team of engineers and admins to keep systems healthy, tackle projects, and help shape where our infrastructure goes next.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

Completion of a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or an equivalent degree OR a combination of a diploma in a Computer Science related field AND Infrastructure or Network Certifications (covering data management and security, cloud computing, networking, and/or Microsoft backend platforms) AND 5 years Tier 3 recent experience in a combination of Infrastructure and Network.

Minimum two years previous experience that includes managing VMWare, Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 Administration.
