Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic invites applications for an Instructor - Dental Assisting in Continuing Education at the Regina campus. This contract runs from 17 September 2026 to 30 June 2027 and includes online and in-person lab components. The rate is $60 per hour.

The instructor will update resources, communicate with students, mark assignments, supervise labs, and assess performance. Candidates must graduate from an accredited Level II Dental Assisting program and hold a current Saskatchewan

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting Program.
• Current License to practice Dental Assisting in Saskatchewan.
• Min. 2 years recent and relevant dental assisting experience in a dental office.
• Experience teaching dental assisting skills or in a clinical environment.
• Ability to apply adult education principles to learners.
• Preference given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.
• Demonstrates valuing diversity.

Responsibilities

• Check links and content prior to the start of the course, update resources as needed, communicate with students regularly, mark assignments, monitor progress, provide timely feedback, manage and review exam submissions as required, finalize official grades.
• Create an outline for the lab days, submit packing list(s) to lab in a timely manner, prepare the room and supplies prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards, teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer student’s questions, complete performance skill testing as required, submit any required paperwork to Continuing Education.

• Comprehensive knowledge of current dental assisting principles and techniques-up to date with current dental assisting courses.
• Recent experience in teaching dental assisting skills and/or a recent experience in a clinical environment.
• Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners with the required knowledge and skills.
• Preference will be given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.
• Demonstrates valuing diversity.
