Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus is seeking an Instructor for Continuing Education in Dental Aide. The role covers course duties, lab prep, and student assessment within the Dental Aide program.

The instructor will check resources, update materials, communicate with students, provide feedback, and help finalize grades while supporting diverse learners and maintaining program standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting Program.
• Current License to practice Dental Assisting in Saskatchewan.
• Min. 2 years recent and relevant dental assisting experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current dental assisting principles and techniques, up to date with current courses.
• Recent experience in teaching dental assisting skills and/or a clinical teaching environment.
• Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners.
• Preference given to current Saskatchewan Polytechnic faculty.
• Demonstrates valuing diversity.

Responsibilities

• Check links and content prior to the start of the course, update resources as needed, communicate with students regularly, mark assignments, monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, manage and review exam submissions as required, finalize official grades.
• Create an outline for the lab day(s), submit packing lists to lab in a timely manner, prepare the room and supplies prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards, teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer student questions, complete performance testing as required, submit any required paperwork to Continuing Education.
