FTAI Aviation in Montréal, QC, is seeking an Inspector – Aerospace Components to join our Component Repair Business Unit. The role ensures airworthiness, precision, and regulatory compliance for Life-Limited Parts, engine casings, and high-value components during and after repair.

The position requires a DEP/DEC/ASP in Inspection or related field, plus at least 3 years in aerospace component inspection, with GD&T proficiency and experience using high-precision instruments.

Qualifications

• DEP/DEC/ASP in Inspection, Aerospace, Machining, Welding, Sheet Metal, or Structures.
• Minimum of 3 years in aerospace component inspection, focusing on LLPs, rotating hardware, and casings.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings including GD&T and use high-precision measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with TC, FAA, EASA, and AS9100 standards.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect LLPs and casings to ensure compliance with OEM specs and regulatory standards.
• Use measuring tools (CMM, micrometers, calipers, profilometers, bore gauges) to assess dimensions.
• Document inspection findings and maintain traceable records.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to address discrepancies and corrective actions.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Inspector – Aerospace Components to join our growing Component Repair Business Unit (CRBU) in Montréal. This role is critical to ensuring airworthiness, precision, and compliance of Life-Limited Parts (LLPs), engine casings, and high-value components during and after repair.

Compensation

The starting salary range for this position is $30.73 to $45.47 per hour, commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training, time, and career progression, hourly compensation may increase to a maximum of $53.21. Employees working the second shift receive an additional shift premium of $1.15 per hour. This position is also eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Inspection & Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections of LLPs and casings to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and regulatory standards.
• Precision Measurement: Utilize advanced measurement tools (e.g., CMM, micrometers, calipers, profilometers, bore gauges) to assess component integrity and dimensions.
• Documentation: Accurately document inspection findings and maintain detailed records for compliance and traceability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to address discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection quality, process efficiency, and performance.

Qualifications

• DEP (diplôme d'études professionnelles), DEC (diplôme d’études collégiales), or ASP (Attestation de spécialisation professionnelle) in Inspection, Aerospace, Machining , Welding , Sheet Metal , or Structures
• Experience : Minimum of 3 years in aerospace component inspection, with emphasis on critical parts such as LLPs , rotating hardware, and casings.
• Technical Proficiency : Skilled in interpreting technical drawings ( including GD&T) and using high- precision measuring instruments.
• Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with TC, FAA, EASA, and AS9100 standards.
• Attention to Detail : Exceptional focus on quality and accuracy in all inspection tasks .
• Communication Skills : Ability to effectively communicate findings and collaborate in a cross- functional , team - based environment .

Internal candidates are encouraged to apply if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Employees with previous aerospace inspection experience or holding current LLP inspection certification.
• Employees who have completed the SCA 300 training.
