Job summary

MacDon Industries Ltd. in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support the development and continuous improvement of the QC inspection function, ensuring products conform to MacDon specifications.

The role includes creating inspection plans, training materials, and process documentation to support QC operations. Responsibilities include inspecting materials and assemblies, rejecting non-conforming items, collecting quality data, and driving 5S lean initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • QC experience in manufacturing is an asset.
  • Reading blueprints is mandatory.
  • Use of inspection tools, equipment and measurement techniques is mandatory.
  • Read and follow written instructions.
  • Experience in assembly in a production environment is an asset.
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Proficiency with PCs and MS Office/JDE/SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of technical mathematics.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of materials, components and assemblies for compliance with established specifications
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality standards by providing information required for disposition
  • Make recommendations for improvements in design, tooling or manufacture as a result of inspection
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data
  • Drive area improvements and enforce 5S lean methodology
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste, improve the work environment, maintain and improve the visual factory and drive efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Shift work required

Academic/Educational Requirements

Required Skills/Experience
  • Previous QC experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

  • Use of inspection tools, equipment and measurement techniques is mandatory (prior experience or education)
  • Read, comprehend and follow written instructions
  • Experience in assembly in a production environment is an asset
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, MS Office programs, JDE & SharePoint systems
  • Good understanding of technical mathematics
