Job summary

NOV is seeking an Inspection Trainee in Canada to assist Operators in inspecting and performing minor repairs on tubular goods, including drill pipe. This entry-level role emphasizes pipe handling, cleaning, inspection, and strict adherence to safety procedures.

You will participate in drift machine operations, thread inspection, and basic maintenance, with on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement within NOV's Canadian network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with ability to read, write and speak basic English.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
• First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operators in the utilization of the drift machine and pipe rotators.
• Thread inspection and Magnetic Particle Inspection.
• Cleaning and minor repair of pipe threads and tubulars.
• Drifting of tubulars and removal/application of thread compounds.
• Equipment set up and tear down; basic maintenance.
• Follow health, safety and environmental requirements and company policies.
• Participate in training programs as required by the company.
• All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Operators in the utilization of the drift machine and pipe rotators.


• Thread inspection


• Magnetic Particle Inspection


• Cleaning and minor repair of pipe threads


• Drifting of tubulars


• Removal and application of thread compounds


• Equipment set up and tear down


• Equipment calibration as directed


• Basic maintenance


• General housekeeping and shop cleanup


• Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements


• Participate in training programs as required by the company


• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties.


• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.


• Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred.

This position is classified as safety sensitive, and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment testing.
