NOV is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Journeyman Millwright) in Canada to safely maintain and repair production equipment to meet daily and monthly goals; responsibilities range from reactive breakdowns to preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of millwright maintenance experience, instrumentation and basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to work with teams, following LOTO, 6S and LEAN practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years experience in Millwright/Maintenance Technician role.
• Instrumentation experience is a plus.
• Basic electrical knowledge 120V–480V.
• Boiler and steam experience an asset.
• Experience repairing manual CNC machines, mills, lathes, drills.
• Must be able to lift to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance to detect early signs of failure or maladjustment.
• Communicate with operators, vendors, and maintenance personnel for production readiness of all machines.
• Work from machine design drawings, specifications, and handbooks.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with NOV policies and procedures.

The Maintenance Technician (Journeyman Millwright) will safely maintain and repair production equipment that permits the efficient fabrication of products, in order to meet our daily/weekly/monthly production goals. Able to process and troubleshoot maintenance scenarios, from a reactive breakdown to a preventative and a predictive maintenance cycle. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of LOTO processes, 6S and LEAN culture, and not limited with the ability to comply and develop FLHA's and JHA's on a daily basis. The ideal candidate should be able to maintain professional demeanor, with minimal supervision, and the ability to communicate effectively among all teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and facilities. Equipment will include:
• Electrical equipment including facility wiring, generators, sub panels, junction boxes
• Mechanical equipment including cranes, doors, plumbing, HVAC systems, compressors
• Production equipment including, injection machines, sandblasters, ovens, autoclaves, saws, welding equipment, product testing apparatus (both electrical and hydraulic)
• Perform adjustment and repair of items as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties that detect early signs of failure or maladjustment.
• Communicate and listen to operators, vendors, and other maintenance personnel to ensure production readiness of all machines.
• Work from machine design drawings, specifications, and handbooks.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Facility Specific Responsibilities

• Technicians will keep safety for our facility’s personnel and equipment priority, followed by a timely response to all our production equipment needs.
• Technician will support every aspect of functionality within Nisku facility
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist, guide and train others as needed.
• Communicate and listen to operators, vendors, and other maintenance personnel to insure maximum utilization of machines and equipment.
• Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments which involve dismantling, inspection, machining and/or replacement of purchased parts.
• Use blueprints and other specifications; uses hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring instruments.
• Inspect and be capable of troubleshooting machines and equipment to locate areas of concern.
• Technicians must be a motivated, selfless handyman with experience in hydraulics, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, framing, welding and/or lighting.
• Know how to operate and assemble machines and equipment.
• May also perform complex duties which include planning and implementation for programmed facilities plans and general maintenance.
• Works under appointed supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred, 3+ years of experience in a Millwright/Maintenance Technician role.
• Instrumentation experience an asset
• Basic electrical 120V to 480V and basic math knowledge.
• Boiler and steam experience an asset
• Experience in the repair of manual CNC machines, mills, lathes, and drills, preferred
• Must be able to lift to 35 lbs.

Additional Information

• Some overtime on an as-needed basis with manager approval
