Job summary

Superior Industries is seeking a design professional to join our team. The Designer will create and route bills of material, produce and modify drawings with CAD software, and ensure compliance with drafting standards.

Key tasks include selecting standard steel shapes, optimizing layouts to maximize material usage, and maintaining drawing logs, while collaborating with others to reuse existing designs. The role offers stable work in our Miramichi facility with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Training and / or experience in Drafting/Detailing
• Training and / or experience in using AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Creation and routing of bills of material and maintenance of detail drawings
• Use CAD to perform initial design functions and detail drawings
• Create accurate detail drawings according to general drafting standards
• Understand dimensioning and tolerancing
• Create bills of material in a structured manner
• Select standard steel shapes whenever possible
• Maximize steel usage by efficient layout of parts
• Verify that markups on shop drawings and/or bills of material are valid and are carried through
• Be aware of existing designs to reuse/share as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned
