Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft cloud and on-premises environments (Azure, M365, Entra ID, AD, Conditional Access, Intune).
• Experience with virtualization, storage, backup, DR, remote access, endpoint management, and network infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise infrastructure environments (servers, virtualization, storage, backup, DR).
• Support corporate and field network infrastructure and wireless networks.
• Manage backup, recovery, and resiliency solutions for DR and BC readiness.

Baytex Energy Corp. is a Calgary-based energy company engaged in the acquisition, development, and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.Baytex's common shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BTE.

The Baytex Information Services department is currently in search of an IT Infrastructure Systems Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting and continuously improving Baytex's IT infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, Microsoft cloud services, identity platforms, collaboration tools, and field OT/IT environments. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, field operations, vendors, and members of the Information Services team to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable technology services across the organization.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Administer and support enterprise infrastructure environments, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Support corporate and field network infrastructure, including internal, guest, and segmented wireless networks.
• Manage backup, recovery, and resiliency solutions to support disaster recovery and business continuity readiness.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot NetApp storage infrastructure, including ONTAP administration, snapshots, replication, storage provisioning, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery processes.
• Maintain critical data center infrastructure and contribute to cloud migration, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Deploy and maintain endpoint configuration standards using Microsoft Group Policy and Intune.
• Support and optimize virtual desktop, Citrix, remote access, and endpoint management technologies.
• Implement and maintain Microsoft Azure solutions that align with business and operational requirements.

OT & Field Technology Support

• Provide infrastructure and cybersecurity support for operational technology environments and field locations.
• Collaborate with field operations personnel to maintain secure and reliable site connectivity, systems access, and infrastructure services.
• Participate in OT security assessments, remediation plans, and technology modernization initiatives.

Networking & Security

• Administer enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless, VPN, DNS, firewalls, and remote access solutions.
• Manage SSL certificates, certificate lifecycle management, public DNS services, and application connectivity.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability remediation, privileged access management, endpoint protection, and monitoring solutions.
• Participate in security incident investigations and remediation activities.

Collaboration & Productivity Platforms

• Support Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies, including Teams, SharePoint Online and related services.
• Administer and support enterprise voice and communications platforms, including Teams voice and legacy telephony transition activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to improve effective use of collaboration and productivity tools across the organization.

Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in technology projects from planning through implementation and operational support.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance security, reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
• Work effectively with business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to support organizational priorities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• 7+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft cloud and on-premises environments, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Conditional Access, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and identity security controls.
• Experience supporting virtualization, storage, backup, disaster recovery, remote access, endpoint management, and network infrastructure solutions.
• Experience administering VMware vSphere, virtual infrastructure, and high-availability environments.
• Experience implementing and supporting cybersecurity technologies, security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service mindset.
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, integrity, and commitment to continuous professional development.

Assets:

• Oil and gas industry experience.
• Relevant certifications in cloud, infrastructure, networking, storage, or cybersecurity disciplines (e.g., Microsoft Azure, VMware, ITIL, NetApp, or Fortinet) would be considered an asset.
• Experience with technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Zscaler, NetApp ONTAP, monitoring platforms (e.g., OpManager), and enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, including Terraform, PowerShell, or similar technologies, would be considered an asset.
