Your role and responsibilities
Infrastructure Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure. Key roles and responsibilities include:
Technical Support: Providing end-to-end support to users for desktop/laptop systems, printers, software, and other peripherals. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software.
Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the maintenance of servers, network components, and storage systems. This involves regular system checks, updates, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
Vendor Management: Liaising with external vendors for IT-related services, including procurement, service contracts, and vendor relations.
Disaster Recovery: Implementing and managing disaster recovery processes to minimize downtime in case of system failures or cyber attacks.
Documentation: Maintaining up-to-date records of IT assets, configurations, changes, and procedures.
Security Management: Ensuring all systems comply with security policies and standards. This includes managing access controls, conducting security audits, and responding to security incidents.
Project Support: Contributing to IT projects as needed, including planning, testing, and implementation phases.
Training & Development: Providing guidance and training to end-users on new technologies or processes.
Compliance: Ensuring all IT operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, particularly critical in a heavily regulated industry like pharmaceuticals.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improving IT processes and services, which may involve researching new technologies or methodologies. The Infrastructure Support Specialist role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high levels of service and system availability.

Required technical and professional expertise
1.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) can sometimes substitute for a degree.
Several years of experience in IT infrastructure support, preferably within a large, complex organization like a global pharmaceutical company.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
Familiarity with enterprise-level software, including database management systems, virtualization platforms, and backup solutions.
Experience with cloud services (preferably with providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is often desirable due to the trend towards cloud computing.
Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) best practices and tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar.
Proven experience in managing and maintaining server, storage, and network infrastructure.
Experience with security tools and protocols, including antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to resolve critical issues.
