Job Details

Title: Sr. Linux Engineer

Location: REMOTE, Franklin, TN

Compensation: $60/hr

Employment Type: Contract to Hire (6 months)

Must Have Experience
  • 5+ years experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role.
  • Expertise in Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, AHV, KVM).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux systems and servers in production and development environments.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect Linux systems from vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Collaborate with network engineers and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups to maintain system integrity.
  • Optimize system performance through tuning and capacity planning.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior team members.
