Job summary

Calance in Montreal is seeking a Windows Desktop / Infrastructure Engineer for a hybrid role with 3 days onsite per week. The candidate will contribute to endpoint technologies, security, and performance while supporting enterprise environments.

You will work on SCCM OSD, Intune Modern Management, and complex Windows infrastructure, collaborating with a globally distributed team and documenting processes for runbooks and knowledge bases.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Windows desktop OS up to Windows 11.
• Expertise with SCCM OSD orchestration and software delivery concepts.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills and SDLC concepts.
• Experience with Windows 11 Intune Modern Management.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, PKI/CA, RADIUS, NPS, 802.1x.

Windows Desktop / Infrastructure Engineers - hybrid (3 days onsite)

Montreal, QC for Hybrid: 3-days onsite per week/ 2-days Remote

Team Summary:

The team is responsible for all aspects of the design, configuration and integration of Windows Desktop, Laptop, VDI, HDI and Cloud PC, including hardware, driver and firmware management.

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for a person to be able to contribute to many of the on-going initiatives in some of these areas and to own engineering and operational tasks from beginning to end. The candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a strategic mind-set, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate within a globally distributed team.

The core responsibilities of this position include:

• Develop and implement endpoint-related technologies into the firm.
• Ensure that the solutions we develop meet the necessary security, supportability, and performance requirements identified by our stakeholders, regulators, and the organization at large.
• Ensure that we meet the business's expectations of high availability, performance, and overall user experience.
• Sustain existing systems by providing level-3 support to help investigate and identify root cause for escalated issues.
• Create, review, maintain and disseminate knowledge through documentation and demonstrations of the technologies, tools, and methodologies that are used to support them.

Required Skills:

• Deep technical understanding of Windows operating systems up to and including Windows 10/11.
• Expertise with SCCM OSD orchestration and software delivery concepts.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills, and SDLC concepts.
• Experience with Windows 11 Intune Modern Management.
• Knowledge of common Windows Infrastructure technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, PKI/CA, RADIUS, NPS, 802.1x, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset (i.e. parsing event logs, SysInternals tools, analysing memory dumps etc).
• Experience automating workflows and providing self service capability.
• Client / Server hardware knowledge and management in an enterprise environment.
• Experience designing technical solutions to meet complex business requirements.
• Ability to author technical and operational management documentation including design and support docs, operational runbooks, internal knowledge base articles, etc.

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of Agile principles and how to apply them.
