Job summary

Saturn Oil & Gas Inc. has a four-month Information Services Summer Student role in Calgary, Alberta. You will provide on-site support, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and record problems in the incident management system while learning Saturn’s tools and processes.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a CS/CE/IT degree, with strong customer service, enthusiasm, and a willingness to grow in technical responsibilities. Physical work with equipment is possible.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, IT or related field.
• Enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills.
• Eager to learn and take on new technical responsibilities.
• Able to perform physical tasks such as moving equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective telephone and desk-side support on-site at Head Office.
• Use existing tools to investigate and record problems in the incident management system.
• Understand Saturn’s tools, processes and methodologies.
• Assist in general information services tasks as required.

Saturn has an opportunity for a 4 month Information Services Summer Student – May 2027 based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Manager, Information Services, some specific duties, and responsibilities of the IS Summer Student include, but are not limited to:

• Provide effective telephone and desk-side support, on-site at Head Office
• Utilize computer hardware and network troubleshooting techniques
• Use existing tools to investigate and record problems in the incident management system
• Understand Saturn’s existing tools, processes and methodologies

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or another Information Technologies related program
• Enthusiasm, a good work ethic and great customer service skills
• Eager and willing to learn and grow in technical knowledge and responsibility
• Able to perform physical work, such as lifting computers or equipment, and shifting them to other locations
