Job summary

Saturn Oil & Gas Inc. is seeking a 16 month Field Operator/Engineering Student to join our Saskatchewan teams in Carlyle or Swift Current. The position starts in May 2027 and offers hands-on field experience in production and engineering within a supportive ESG-focused culture.

You will rotate between Field Operator and Field Engineering duties, contributing to production optimization, data analysis and project support in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s coop program pursuing an undergrad degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or Civil.
• Commit to the full term starting May 2027.
• Clean Driver’s Abstract; willing to relocate to Carlyle for the term.
• Strong communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Increase and maintain production volumes through hands-on mechanical work.
• Be responsible for light oil, gas plants, and oil batteries.
• Work with water floods, EOR, pump jacks and PC pumps.
• Perform well testing techniques and production reporting.
• Obtain baseline engineering experience and participation in file reviews.
• Provide data analysis support and assist with Production-related projects.
• Attend internal and external meetings where applicable.

Saturn has an opportunity for a 16 month Field Operator/Engineering Student based in the Carlyle or Swift Current, Saskatchewan areas starting in May 2027.

Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Field Operator/Engineering Student include, but are not limited to:

Field Operator

• Utilize your hands on mechanical aptitude and experience to solve daily problems to increase and maintain production volumes
• Be responsible for light oil, gas plants, and/or oil batteries
• Work with water floods, EOR, pump jacks, and PC pumps
• Perform well testing techniques and production reporting.

Field Engineering

• Obtain baseline engineering experience and exposure in Production
• Participate in inactive/active well file reviews
• Perform optimization research for increased production
• Provide technical support of data analysis and assistance for the preparation of various applications
• Execute small projects related to Production
• Attend, where applicable, internal and external meetings.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s and coop program, pursuing an undergrad degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or Civil
• Student must be able to commit to the full term, starting in May 2027
• Clean Drivers Abstract as student will be provided with a company truck
• If applicable, the student must be willing to relocate to Carlyle for the duration of the term
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
