The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation is responsible for the policies, legislation, regulations, programs, and services that enable Alberta’s agriculture and food sectors to flourish and contribute to Alberta’s economic recovery and growth. The ministry’s role is diverse, ranging from food safety and industry growth and diversification to increasing investment and supporting growth in rural Alberta.
The Trade, Investment and Food Safety Division expands and diversifies Alberta’s food and bio-product manufacturing sector in local and global markets while also providing effective food safety assurance systems.
The Export and Investment Branch focuses on attracting investment to Alberta’s agri-processing sectors and expanding export opportunities for Alberta’s businesses.
This position is responsible for providing leadership and support for Programs under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable-CAP) Agreement in Alberta. Primary responsibility is supporting the delivery of and contributing to strategic development of programs to achieve goals and objectives of the Sustainable-CAP Growth and Value-Added Theme Programs.
Key responsibilities of this position:
This position reports to the Manager, Industry Development Programs, and will receive guidance as required. It is expected that this position will take initiative to explore potential solutions to challenges.

University Degree in a field related preferably in Business, Economics, Public Administration or related discipline, and a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience is required.
