GrizzlyTrek Group is hiring an Industrial Skilled Labourer / Apprentice Pipefitter for our Lamont shop in Alberta, with field work and out-of-town jobs. This full-time permanent role offers a path to indentured apprenticeship in pipefitting or another trade for the right candidate.

You will work 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 10 days on and 4 days off, with overtime potential. A driver’s licence and residence within 100 km of Lamont are required.

Qualifications

• Industrial skilled labour experience or pipefitter apprentice time.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean abstract and reliable transportation.
• Live within 100 km of Lamont, Alberta.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work long days when required.

Responsibilities

• Work in shop and field, assisting crew as needed.
• Assist pipefitters with fit-up, measuring, cutting, beveling, grinding, and moving pipe and fittings.
• Learn pipefitting under journeyman direction, including reading drawings.
• Operate equipment (e.g., skid steer) as trained.
• Support safety meetings and travel for out-of-town projects.

GrizzlyTrek is hiring Industrial Skilled Labourers and Apprentice Pipefitters for our valued client's shop in Lamont, Alberta. This is full time permanent work, 10 days on and 4 days off, split between the shop and the field, and the right candidate gets a path to being indentured as an apprentice in pipefitting or another trade.
Whether you are starting out or switching into the trades, a passion for learning pipefitting counts. You must live within 100 km of Lamont.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Successful completion of Alcohol and Drug Screening
• A clean driver's abstract for your valid Class 5 licence
• Worker to provide current safety training tickets held, valid government issued identification, and CSA approved safety boots (minimum 6 inch, fully laceable)

Employment is conditional upon successfully meeting all of the pre-employment requirements listed above.

What You'll Do

• Work in the shop and in the field, and jump in wherever the crew needs you
• Help pipefitters with fit-up: measure, cut, bevel, grind and move pipe, valves and fittings
• Learn the pipefitting trade under journeyman direction, including reading drawings
• Run a variety of equipment as you are trained on it, including skid steer
• Troubleshoot equipment problems, and load, stage and keep material and work areas organized
• Take part in hazard assessments and safety meetings, and travel to out-of-town jobs when required

What You Bring

• Industrial skilled labour experience, pipefitter apprentice time, or a real passion for learning pipefitting
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean abstract, and reliable transportation to the shop
• You live within 100 km of Lamont
• Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
• Physically fit for duty and able to lift 50 lbs
• Ambitious, able to work long days when needed and handle changing conditions
• Reliable and safety minded, with a strong work ethic and a team-first attitude

Nice to Have

• Skid steer experience
• Oilfield tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Protection, TDG, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance
• Already registered as a Steamfitter-Pipefitter apprentice in Alberta

Work Environment

• Shop and outdoor field work in all Alberta weather, with long days when the workload calls for it
• Repeated lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, plus bending, kneeling and standing through a full shift
• Noise, vibration and work around operating equipment, plus some out-of-town work
