Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Cambridge, Ontario, is seeking an abrasive blaster to support projects at our Cambridge Coating Facility.

Training with heavy equipment, grinding tools, and power tools is valued; you may assist with painting or coating after surface preparation. You will remove dirt, paint, grease, and other materials; set up and operate a blast booth; load and unload the blast cabinet; apply non-skid materials as needed; and perform related duties per the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Previous sandblasting experience or training.
• Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus.
• High school diploma or GED certificate required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces.
• Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.
• Load and unload the blast cabinet.
• Assist with painting or coating as needed.
• Apply and remove non-skid materials as needed.
• Perform other related duties within the scope of the classification and Collective Agreement, as assigned.
