Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Cambridge is seeking a Painter for Aecon Industrial to support projects at our Cambridge Coating Facility.

You will spray using conventional, airless, and plural equipment, prepare materials, and read drawings to ensure coatings meet specifications. This role requires familiarity with coatings such as epoxies and polyurethanes, the ability to operate hand and power tools, and willingness to learn new skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with painting coatings in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read drawings and follow coating specs.
• Comfort working in a fabrication/shop environment with PPE.
• Willingness to work extended hours and various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Be able to spray using conventional, airless, and plural equipment.
• Prepare materials for spray application: mask, sand, clean.
• Read and understand drawings / dimensions.
• Follow coating technical data sheet specifications.
• Use wet film and dry film gauges.
• Work with various coatings (zincs, epoxies, polyurethanes).
• Operate hand and power tools of all types.
• Handle material using forklifts, overhead cranes, buggies and carts.
• Receive and identify incoming material.
• Clean and prepare shop areas.
• Assist other craft workers.
• Be willing to learn new skills and training provided by Aecon.
