Job summary

Omineca Industrial is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Prince George team and take ownership of industrial projects from award through completion. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in mining, forestry, or both, with a practical understanding of the safety, production, and maintenance demands of operating mines and mills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years project management in industrial construction with budgets and schedules
• Experience in mining operations or forestry facilities; shutdowns and upgrades
• Ability to read engineered drawings and understand structural/ mechanical installs
• Strong project controls, costing, forecasting, procurement, contract administration, change management
• Proven leadership and communication; able to work independently and across teams
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
• PMP certification or formal PM training is an asset

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, drawings, specifications, contracts, and customer requirements to establish scope, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and execution plans
• Manage multiple projects and work orders with safety, quality, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction in mind
• Develop and maintain project schedules including procurement, shop fabrication, field installation, shutdowns, and commissioning milestones
• Coordinate with leadership, shop and field supervisors, and other Project Managers to allocate trades, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
• Plan shutdowns and tie-ins with client operations to minimize downtime and coordinate access
• Coordinate purchasing, supplier and subcontractor quotations, purchase orders, fabrication priorities, deliveries, and mobilization
• Monitor labour productivity, equipment utilization, costs, and forecast cost to complete; identify corrective actions
• Review labour/equipment/material records, timesheets, invoices, and progress claims; support accurate billing
• Manage scope changes, extras, and delays; document impacts and approvals
• Maintain project documentation including drawings, RFIs, minutes, progress reports, and decisions
• Represent Omineca at client meetings; provide progress updates, risks, and decisions
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements; address unsafe conditions promptly
• Coordinate quality requirements with shop/field teams; inspections and records
• Resolve project issues; provide practical solutions before execution
• Provide direction to supervisors and mentor team members
• Build customer relationships and identify opportunities for repeat work; assist estimating with lessons learned
• Oversee completion, commissioning support, punch lists, turnover, and final invoicing
• Review results and recommend improvements for future work
