Job summary

Propak Systems Ltd. in Airdrie, AB is seeking Journeyman and Apprentice Painters to join our Fabrication Shops. You will estimate materials, prepare surfaces, operate spray equipment, and apply protective coatings while progressing through an apprenticeship.

Day, evening and weekend shifts with premiums are offered, plus a competitive package including RRSP matching. A successful candidate will hold Alberta Journeyperson or be an apprentice, with 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or equivalent.
• Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• 1–2 years of directly related work experience.
• May direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
• Eligible for registration as a registered apprentice or already registered.

Responsibilities

• Estimate the quantity of materials required by measuring surfaces or reviewing a work order.
• Select appropriate paint or mix according to a pre-determined formula.
• Prepare surfaces for paint application (sandblasting, wrapping).
• Operate spray paint equipment or other coating equipment.
• Apply protective coatings to items or surfaces.
• Maintain and clean painting areas and PPE.
• Follow instructions and meet project timelines.
