Job summary

Acier Trimax in Sainte-Marie, Canada, is seeking a metal plating technician for on-site work. You will clean and organize the area, monitor plating thickness, and operate galvanizing and spray equipment to coat metal parts.

  • Prepare and mix metallizing solutions according to formulas or specs.
  • Tend automatic metal coating machines through cleaning, rinsing and plating.
  • Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for coatings.
  • Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat.

Tasks

  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Operate and control: electroplating equipment to coat metal, hot-dip metal plating equipment to galvanize metal and/or spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts
  • Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
  • Prepare and mix metallizing solutions according to formulas or specifications
  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints
  • Tend automatic metal coating machines which convey objects through a series of cleaning, rinsing and plating solutions
  • Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings
  • Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat
