THE ROLE

As an Industrial Spray Painter , you will be working in a manufacturing plant, painting large industrial parts. This is a great permanent opportunity for someone who enjoys 3-day weekends (off Friday to Monday afternoon). You will be working in a team environment on the afternoon shift. This is a growing company that is very busy right now. This Industrial Spray Painter position is located in Hamilton for a medium-sized manufacturing plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsibilities for this Industrial Spray Painter role include :

  • Read and interpret work orders, identify parts for blasting and organize by work priority
  • Review parts for quality accuracy to ensure quality
  • Ensure proper time management to complete tasks on time
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment (grit blaster) to remove excess welds, scales and other material from surfaces of metal parts
  • Operating an industrial spray painter with specifications as per work orders.
  • Assist structural steel fitters and metalworking machine operators
  • Transport raw materials and finished products manually or using hoists or other devices
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Ensuring that safety procedures are always followed
  • Ensuring a constant awareness of safety and quality

REQUIREMENTS :

  • 3-5 years of industrial spray painting experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of shot blasting experience preferred
  • Ability to make sound decisions
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
