Job summary

Grain Millers Canada is hiring an Industrial Packaging Operator for our Yorkton facility. This permanent role requires shift work, including nights and weekends, on 12-hour modified shifts. You will operate multiple packaging lines, perform quality checks, and maintain GMP paperwork.

The position offers competitive salary with quarterly bonuses, overtime, premium for nights/weekends, and a company RRSP match. Prior packaging experience and a valid Saskatchewan forklift certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable and capable of operating complex packaging lines.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing / packaging may be preferred.
• Must hold or can hold a valid Sask. forklift operator certificate.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Strong computer skills (word, excel, data entry).
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift 50 lbs on 12 hr shifts.
• Experience in grain processing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate various packaging lines including bagging lines and palletizer.
• Manage flour packaging lines and toting tasks.
• Conduct metal detector tests as part of GMP program.
• Complete paperwork and inventory system data entry.
• Support packaging team with day-to-day tasks when required.

Enjoy shift work? and more time off? Join us at Grain Millers! Our Yorkton Facility is hiring a Industrial Packaging Operator. This is a permanent position. This position requires shift work (12-hr Modified shift schedule), including Nights and weekend shifts.

Grain Millers is an international agri-business with interests in whole grain manufacturing, merchandising, Grain, and oilseed milling and other Value-added Manufacturing. We are one of the North America's premier Oat Milling companies that supplies customers both locally and globally. Our plants are located across North America with our Canadian headquarters in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

The Industrial Packaging Operator is a member of the Industrial Packing team and carries out all duties and responsibilities of the department as required. This position will be operating various lines in our warehouse which includes but is not limited to Automated and Semi automated bagging lines, Automated Palletizer, flour packaging lines and toting. You will be conducting metal detector tests and other checks as part of our GMP program. Operators are to Complete all paperwork / summaries of packing activities including date entry on inventory system and internal communication systems. This position may also be required to assist other members of the packaging team with day-to-day tasks or responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to perform physical tasks repetitively such as climbing ladders/stairs and lift 50lbs and working 12 hr. shifts.
• Must be able to work in a grain processing environment which exposes staff to allergens such as, but not limited to, grain and grain dust.
• Must be comfortable in working with heights.
